Breakout Room 1

Jon Hjembo, Senior Manager at TeleGeograhphy, will give us a 45-minute interactive tour around the new 2021 Internet Map as a whole and will focus on what is happening in Europe, Eastern Europe and on the Covid Effect. At the same time, he will tell us all about how the map was made, the dataset featured in the map and the methodology used.

 

 

Jon Hjembo’s Bio

Jonathan Hjembo joined TeleGeography in 2009, he heads the company’s data center research, tracking capacity development and pricing trends in key global markets. He also specializes in research on international transport and internet infrastructure development, with a particular focus on Eastern Europe, and maintains the dataset for TeleGeography’s website, internetexchangemap.com.

Jon is a regular speaker on the international conference circuit, chairing panel discussions and offering analyst presentations on network and data centre market developments. He holds a Master’s degree from The George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree from Cedarville University.

Quantum Internet. What is it? Will it happen or better said, when will it happen? How will it be used and how will it affect us all? 

A lot of questions. Jesse Robbers, Co-Founder & Director at Quantum Delta NL will, in an interactive presentation take us into the subatomic realms and lead us along boson particles and through string theory towards Qbits and the answers.

Jesse will enlighten you in a 30 Min presentation about the future of our Digital Infrastructure and will share some actual examples of what currently is happening in the field of Quantum Technology and actual plans on Quantum Networks.

 

Jesse Robbers Bio

At present Jesse Robbers is “Co-Founder & Director” at Quantum Delta NL. This new institution was recently established by the Dutch quantum ecosystem of companies, knowledge institutes and governmental institutions, to accelerate the leading role of the Netherlands in quantum technology. Besides his activities in the Quantum domain, he is Sr. Business Consultant at TNO ICT with specialism in the field of Digital Infrastructure, Internet, Cloud and Media and coordination the Dutch GAIA-X activities in this position.

In the past Jesse was CCO at the “Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX)” and “Technical Director Benelux” at “Ericsson Broadcast and Media Services” (now REDBee Media). He fulfilled various roles at KPN, focusing on internet distribution networks and media propositions. Jesse has held several advisory board positions in organizations to stimulate new international and joint industry developments, like “Digital Infrastructure Nederland (DINL)”, the “Dutch Media Hub (DMH)” and the “National Agenda Quantum Technology (NAQT)” and is now representing the Netherlands within Euro Quantum Communication Infrastructure board (EuroQCI).
